The Last Shadow Puppets have released a new teaser video for their much anticipated sophomore album.
The supergroup trio, comprised of Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, Miles Kane (ex-Rascals) and Simian Mobile Disco‘s James Ford posted the video to their Facebook page, only a couple of weeks after the first trailer was released. The group have announced a “Spring 2016” release date for the as-yet-untitled album.
The video features the pair in the studio, with dark images spliced throughout, while Kane does a full blooded impression of famed wrestler Ric Flair in the scenic back garden.
Ford confirmed the record’s completion in a recent interview with Chilean music site Rock & Pop. “This year, I’ve done a Last Shadow Puppets record, which is the guy from Arctic Monkeys and Miles.”
When the duo released their debut album The Age of the Understatement way back in 2008, it was greeted with universal critical acclaim. Since then they have both been kept busy with their own music careers, which has seen Alex Turner release three more albums with Arctic Monkeys as well as a string of collaborations, and two solo albums from Kane.
Despite their heavy workloads, the artists have always maintained that a new Shadow Puppets album was something that they would do sometime in the future. As far back as 2013, Turner fielded the question of a reunion when speaking to NME. “It’s something we’d both love to do at some point but I don’t know what that point is…It’s definitely something that’s on the cards in the future.”
The release of the second trailer brings the reality closer to finally being able to hear some new music from the lads.
