You can just forget about chucking the video of your shitty wedding-aisle-flash-mob or over-the-top-first-dance-routine on YouTube, because this dude from Sydney has just upped the wedding surprise ante.
About six months ago, Sydney copywriter Michael Dawson reached out to his “man all the way from Harlem”, A$AP Ferg, for a very special favour: a Ble$$ing. As Pedestrian reported, the bride, Jessica, is a superfan who listens to A$AP Ferg pretty much 24/7. It seemed only appropriate to ask the Hood Pope to bless their union.
Dawson, had gone along to a meet-and-greet and stayed back to give Ferg his spiel. He was totally prepared to be turned down after pitching the idea, but to his surprise, “he said ‘Yeah sure’. He was actually super down with it.”
The video was filmed at the venue, before Ferg hit the stage that night. Dawson had planned to film the video message on his phone, but Ferg wasn’t having any of that. He got his official tour videographer to film the whole thing instead. Playing the video message at the wedding as a surprise, Dawson said that the language caused a stir among some of the couple’s guests, but that Jessica, and their friends, “was over the moon, she literally couldn’t believe it.”
Tweeting about the video, Ferg seems pretty pleased with the way the entire thing went over:
