Kendrick Lamar Pulls Fan Onstage, Fan Forgets Lyrics, Freestyles Instead

Kendrick Lamar may have accidentally discovered rap’s next big thing, after pulling a random fan on stage to perform at Day and Night Festival in Houston last weekend.

During a performance of his explosive 2012 single m.A.A.d city, Lamar pulled the fan, who goes by the name Corporate Dough, onto the stage to perform.

Unfortunately for Dough, his memory wasn’t up to scratch when it came to performing the classic lyrics in front of tens of thousands of people.

Despite the setback, Dough proceeded to impress the crowd with a fresh freestyle of his own atop the classic track. Kendrick looked on from the stage, and rejoined Dough for a rousing chorus.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment ‘All my life'”, he started strong, before diving into the famed song. The lyrics soon became a freestyle, perhaps a result of stage fright, or perhaps this was his intention all along. Considering the attention he’s already receiving, perhaps the improv was just another part of his master plan.

While the crowd sorta laughed at his “Corporate Dough” moniker, he didn’t seem to care. “I am living my dream right now,” he hoarsely shouts. “If I die right now, everything will have been worth it”, before embracing Kendrick.

The performance has generated considerable attention online, with many people searching for the young MC via social media.

He has even been offered studio time by a Houston recording company.

For all Australian hopefuls looking to break onto the scene by hopping onstage with the Compton rapper, Kendrick will be touring for Bluesfest in March, along with a string of sideshows. Dates below:
