All eyes in the hip-hop world have been glued on the biggest tour of this year – the Rocky and Tyler tour. Hip-hop heavyweights A$AP Rocky and Tyler, The Creator took their live shows on the road around America over the past few months, and brought their good pals Danny Brown and Vince Staples along for the ride as well. The tour wrapped up recently in San Francisco, and now fan footage is slow surfacing of just how great their last leg was.
It’s come to light now that not only did Rocky bring out none other than Lil B for a performance of Like A Martian during his set, he also treated fans to a live freestyle. The beat he chose for the freestyle? Why, it was his tour mate Tyler’s Yonkers of course.
With a beat that rattles your bones and almost gives you uneasy it’s so sinister, a fan filmed clip of Rocky doing this thing has now surfaced online. Clearly having the crowd in the palm of his hand, he raps about everything from coming to San Francisco (SF) to “represent” all the way to name dropping his Alexander Wang boots.
This actually isn’t the first time he has freestyled over Yonkers. He first visited the track back in 2012. Whilst his freestyle from three years ago is a lot stronger, it’s clear from this clip that Rocky has turned into a brilliant performer who knows how to work the room.
Although Tyler, The Creator’s September Australian tour was cancelled with hopes that it may be rescheduled soon, it seems all systems are go for A$AP Rocky’s 2016 tour Down Under. Tour mate Vince Staples will also be in the country next year for the Laneway festival.
