We’ve never waited this long for a Rihanna album before. The wait has been creeping towards the four-year mark, with news of her eighth release ANTI tentative at best. While the gorgeous, enigmatic album artwork was recently revealed, we’re yet to see a track list, or any new music apart from BBHMM, American Oxygen and FourFiveSeconds (which may be featuring on Kanye‘s upcoming album, we know even less about that than we do ANTI). However, fashion publication Teen Vogue has now revealed that ANTI will be getting its long-awaited release this Friday November 27 (Black Friday).
On TIDAL, that is.
Everybody else has to wait until December 4.
In the meantime, Rihanna has teamed up with Samsung to induce some serious mobile-driven hype as we wait. Check out new website ANTIdiaRy (it basically only functions properly on your phone), a virtual sneak peek into the album. Unlock rooms by uncovering clues, and you can hear snippets of new music, exclusive artwork and more. The site is also connected to an Instagram account with the cryptic name Iamthekeyholder. The account photos of locations around the USA, where little drawings related to Rihanna and her album’s artwork can be seen. Apparently a real key can be found at each of these locations, another clue for new hints and music.
In related news, Rihanna has also announced a huge world tour with Travis Scott, Big Sean and The Weeknd across North America and Europe. No Australian dates yet, but our fingers are crossed!
