Snoop Dogg has been a busy man. While the entrepreneurial rapper has not been releasing particularly great music of late, fans have been enjoying his creative output in a different format – since May 2011, he’s hosted a hilarious online talk show, GGN (the Double G News Network).
Since hitting the web, the program has featured a veritable cavalcade of special guests ranging from Seth Rogen, Paris Hilton, Will.i.am, Jamie Foxx and Vince Staples.
Purposed to provide a ‘hood perspective’ that Snoop feels is not accommodated by the mainstream media, the GGN network showcases raw and uncut discussions with a dazzling array of celebrity guests, some questionably tasteful weather reports and a copious amount of the chronic.
The rapper’s humorous take on news and current affairs has also featured some more oddball additions such as the cast of Trailer Park Boys, as well as counter-cultural comedy duo Cheech & Chong.
With over 200 episodes under his belt Snoop is now set to make the jump from his WestfestTV YouTube channel to music orientated pay TV channel REVOLT.
Created by another venerable rapper Sean Combs (also known as Puff Daddy, Puffy, Diddy, and P. Diddy) the social media savvy channel seems a suitable fit for Snoop’s journalistic antics.
Entering the realm of broadcast television, Snoop Dogg will now be going toe to toe with other late night U.S. talk show hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Steven Colbert and Jimmy Fallon.
GGN is set to make its televised debut on November 11th at 10:30 p.m. EST.
