The 2015 ARIA nominations are in!

It’s that time of year again – ARIA time. The Australian music industry’s night of nights, and, although at times controversial with it’s nominations, this year it seems they’ve really paid attention to the year that was.

You would have to be living under a rock to not notice the year Courtney Barnett has had, and it seems even those behind the ARIA Awards have noticed. Looking set to absolutely dominate this year’s ceremony, Barnett has picked up eight nominations and has already won one of those for Best Cover Art. Barnett has also been nominated for Album Of The Year, Best Female Artist, Best Independent Release, Best Rock Album, Breakthrough Artist and also picked up nods in the publicly voted categories for Best Australian Live Act and Best Video for Pedestrian At Best.

Sitting just behind the musician/producer is electronic duo Hermitude, picking up seven nominations off the back of their latest album, Dark Night Sweet Light. Looking like real contenders for the categories of Album Of The Year, Best Group, Best Independent Release, they too have been nominated by the public for Best Australian Live Act and Best Video.

Tame ImpalaFlight Facilities, and Vance Joy have also picked up nominations for Album Of The Year, whilst Barnett is in serious competition with Jessica MauboyMeg MacMegan Washington, and (obviously) Sia for Best Female Artist. AC/DCThe PreaturesAlison Wonderland and many, many more have also picked up nominations.

You can check the full list below, and watch the ceremony on Thursday, 26th November.
