Last Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of the best album of 2014 – Run The Jewels 2. El-P and Killer Mike marked the occasion by sharing the official video for Angel Duster, the final track in the treasured album. The video was directed and edited by Ryosuke Tanzawa.
The Angel Duster visuals are pretty simple in comparison to their otherworldly past videos. It compiles footage from many different Run the Jewels concerts and festival performances. The footage shows special guest appearances from Nas, Bun B, Travis Barker, Zack de la Rocha among others.
If it wasn’t already clear just how big the RTJ movement has gotten over the past year, this video proves it. It is a true testament to the absolutely insane live shows the duo have performed. At the rate that these two are taking over, I’d say a second term for Yeezus’ presidency would be unlikely.
At the end of the clip, El-P and Killer Mike pay tribute to Ikey Owens, the award-winning keyboardist, who passed away in October last year. Owens was an incredible pianist and was best know for his work with The Mars Volta and Jack White.
The past two years have shown Run The Jewels to be unstoppable, and 2016 is sure to be bigger than ever.
