Planet Asia Takes Aim at Major Record Companies in New Video

West Coast O.G. Planet Asia has this week released the video for his song Cutt, a track from the DJ Fresh One collab project The Tonight Show.

In the video, Planet Asia makes perfectly clear his feelings towards major record companies these days. It depicts two masked men driving around the city, kidnapping what seems to be executives or at least ‘suits’ from the major record companies Capitol, Def Jam, Island and Universal Republic. At the end of the video, we hear an explosion and then are shown the van in flames.

Check it out below:

This isn’t the first time that Planet Asia has voiced a disagreement with major record companies. Planet Asia has been in the hip hop game for the better part of 20 years and was once signed to the major label Interscope Records (which the masked men did not visit). However, he did not release an album while with the company, instead, his success has come from being an independent artist better known as being one half of Cali Agents. Planet Asia has also featured on a few Aussie hip hop tracks including Diligent Music with Obese Records founder Pegz.

The Tonight Show was released in July and the eight track album jumps straight back to the ‘true school’ generation of the 90s which he best showcased in his debut self titled EP.

If you dig Cutt be sure to check the rest out.
