A$AP Ferg announces new album for 2016

Be still my beating heart. Everyone’s favourite Trap Lord has announced a new album. A$AP Ferg took to Twitter to announce a January 2016 release date for Always Strive and Prosper.

As you can probably tell from the three exclamation marks that accompany the tweet, this announcement is serious business. Ferg himself has had a rather quiet year, stage diving lawsuits aside, and has taken a back seat to the triumphs of crew member A$AP Rocky, who marked 2015 with the release of At.Long.Last.A$APFergenstein did make a brief appearance on Keith Ape’s It G Ma remix, alongside Dumbfoundead and Waka Flocka, subsequently birthing worldwide attention to the Japanese trap scene.

The album announcement comes hot off the heels of an Australian and New Zealand A$AP Rocky tour announcement, which has set the females down under in a state of collective tongue wagging. The title itself is rather fitting; Always Strive and Prosper being the full definition behind everyone’s favourite acronym, ‘A$AP’, revealed all the way back in 2012 by none other than Rocky himself.

Ferg has been known for his hard hitting trap beats, and his anthemic tracks, and this album is sure to stay loyal to that theme.

Then again, he did just jump on a remix of American Beauty/American Psycho with Fall Out Boy for the upcoming Make America Psycho Again album release. So who knows, we might just see Ferg take a leaf out of Lil Wayne’s book and release his own pop rock album a la Rebirth.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed that this does not become a reality.
