Why Robyn Has Cancelled the Rest Of Her Tour

As part of her new project La Bagatelle Magique, Robyn and keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt were going on tour to celebrate their new album. However, they would be doing this without an important member of the group. Last year, producer Christian Falk lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

They initially decided to go on with the tour without Falk. They performed at Sweden’s Popaganda Festival last month, but the emotional weight was too much to stand – understandably, Robyn has decided that the rest of the tour will not continue. She has cancelled her appearances in San Francisco and Brazil for Treasure Island Music Festival and Rock In Rio, respectively.

In a statement, Robyn said performing the songs proved to be much more difficult than she thought. “Even though it’s been a year since Christian passed, I’m heartbroken and performing them feels too heavy still.”

They will still release a music video they are currently working on, however, Robyn will be taking a break and come back with some new music. It has been announced that FKA Twigs will be replacing Robyn in San Francisco.

“I’m sorry to disappoint the fans that have bought tickets to these shows, and I will do my best to come back to San Francisco and Brazil soon,” she says.

We appreciate how brave she is for trying to pull through during such a difficult time and hope she comes back to music when she feels ready.
