Philadelphia Grand Jury are storming back with a new single, album and national tour

Like Jason Voorhees or Tha Carter album series, some things just refuse to die. Philadelphia Grand Jury are musically gifted zombies in that regard, every time you think they’re done and dusted they rise from the grave and go on a murdering spree national tour. To that end, the boys (MC Bad Genius, Berkfinger and Dan W Sweat), have just announced another one of those suckers as well as dropping a brand new track on us.

Never leave us again, Philly Jays. Crashing And Burning Pt II is more of that familiar, fantastic and fuzzy indie rock that took Australia by storm heading into the second decade of the new millenium. It’s their first new stuff since the release of their debut album Hope Is For Hopers way back in two thousand and dickety-nine (the Kaiser having stolen our word for ‘zero’). Alas the musical gods worked against the band and they broke up before being able to follow up what was a screamer of a first album.

Well good news Philadelphia Grand Jury fans, because that second album is now just a couple of weeks away. Dropping well in time for the season itself, it’s titled Summer Of Doom (although if the rest of it is as good as Crashing And Burning Pt II is then it should actually be called Summer Of AWESOME, am I right?… Am I right?).

Following that, the band are embarking on a national tour spanning just about every major capital city. We absolutely can’t wait. In the meantime, have some vintage Philly Jays to whet your appetite.
