EL VY (The National, Menomena) Share Sexy New Single

What do you get when you put Matt Berninger from The National and Brent Knopf of Menomena into a studio? EL VY of course! Pronounced as in the plural of Elvis, the super duo have been quietly working on material with each other for years, but have finally put their money where their mouths are and are set to release an album!

Following on from their debut single and title track from their forthcoming album, Return To The Moon, EL VY are back at it with another lyric video for I’m The Man To Be. It’s a sassy, humorous and catchy as hell track featuring Knopf’s unreal knack for production and Berninger’s  natural showmanship as he delivers one of the funniest choruses of the year. With it’s stylish guitar riffs, subtle arrangements and Matt’s one of a kind vocals, I’m The Man To Be was quick to become a hit with critics and fans alike, and the accompanying video only reaffirms just how good it is.

Berninger said of the track, “There’s this great Schoolboy Q song ‘There He Go’ which samples Menomena’s ‘Wet and Rusting’. I thought it would be funny to re-sample the same sample and do it from the perspective of a pathetic self-aggrandizing rocker alone in a hotel room. Something I know a lot about. That’s how it started but then Brent took the sample out and we wrote an entirely new song.”

Return To The Moon is out October 30, and you can pre-order it right now for both digital and physical releases. Check the tracklisting below:
