Danny Elfman to perform The Nightmare Before Christmas on Halloween!

Get ready to relive one of the most acclaimed films of your childhood, and perhaps one that caused as many laughs as it did nightmares. Composer Danny Elfman is reprising his role as Jack Skellington, for a special live presentation of legendary Tim Burton cult film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The one-off show will be performed Halloween Night at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. The soundtrack to Tim Burton’s 1993 stop-motion classic will be performed by a full orchestra and the film itself.

The Hollywood Bowl itself will be transformed into a real-life version of Halloween Town, which guests urged to dress up as their favourite Burton characters, with prizes going to the best dressed attendee.

A ‘Special Guest Artist’ has also been confirmed to appear to perform as the cast of characters. As of right now, none have been revealed other than John Mauceri, founder of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, who will conduct the orchestra and choir.

Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday at noon PST via Ticketmaster, if you’re in the area this is not one to miss. For anybody who grew up with this weird and wonderful film, this is a pretty amazing dream come true – we can only hope that the event will be recorded for us folk who are unable to attend!
