To kick off what is to no doubt be a huge summer of sideshows to coincide with all the absolutely massive festivals lineups, today Astral people announced sideshows for 2 producers at the forefront of experimental production. Alongside their performances at Strawberry Fields Festival over the weekend of November 20th, Michigan producer Shigeto and Essex-native Lapalux now have a sideshow at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on the 13th of November.
Both are masters of beautiful, lush sounds, and so it only fits that they play a show together aside from their sets at the festival. Shigeto is no stranger to Australia or Strawberry, having played a series of massive shows in 2013 following his release of No Better Time Than Now, a simply beautiful record. His return also coincides with the release of his latest track Pulse, off his latest EP which will no doubt see some play down under. Astral couldn’t have selected a better support for the show than Lapalux – whose album Lustmore is without doubt one of the most underrated records of the year. Please do yourself a favour and check it out – it got released on Brainfeeder, Flying Lotus’ label, which should give some kind of indication of just how good it is. Have FlyLo faith. Supports are yet to be announced, but really, this would be a great show even if it was just the two of them.
Astral always delivers the goods, and there aren’t enough words to explain just how much of an experience this show will be. Live instrumentation alongside electronic music that should be a combination unlike any that’s been seen before. Hit tickets here ASAP, no doubt it’s going to sell out and you’d be a fool to sleep on this.
