Bon Iver played a massive headlining set last week at his own, personally curated festival in his hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He is, of course, a superhero in his hometown, and all the more so after a set which lasted almost an hour and a half, and traversed through the old and new, debuting two new songs (they begin at about the one hour mark before Skinny Love). Incredibly, this was his first performance in three years, and unfortunately he’s showing no signs of any more performances in the near future.
Lucky for us however, one dedicated fan taped the entire set which can viewed below. He was also supported by Colin Stetson, No BS! Brass Band, yMusic, The Staves, Aaron and Bryce Dessner, and Josh Scott.
Bon Iver appeared overwhelmed at times, even tearing up at points. Let’s be honest, we probably would have all been crying if we were there too.
