The Durries hit us with their debut music video for ‘Marlboro Gold’

If you’ve not heard The Durries just yet, there is still just enough time to assess the horrible direction your life is heading in and make amends for it. They dropped their debut EP, We Build Schools earlier in the year as well as playing some absolutely mental live shows that we had the pleasure of attending. Today marks the arrival of their very first music video for their Triple J maligned track Marlboro Gold, and by God is it a work of Renaissance art.

As you can tell, it’s an interesting twist on the opening credits to your parents lame favourite 70s family sitcom, The Brady Bunch. I’d actually have relished watching that show had it contained Gatorade bong rips, a Mad Men season’s worth of cigarettes and dudes dancing around in drag like The Durries version has.

If you were one of the chosen ones and you’re lucky enough to be a Brisbane-ite, you can catch The Durries live at Ric’s Bar in Fortitude Valley this Saturday night. Their live shows have been nothing short of fantastic thus far, and the crusty dankness that is Ric’s is perhaps their natural habitat. If you need a primer, We Build Schools is on Soundcloud now through Bedlam Records. Check ’em out!
