The Dead Weather Lock In Album Release Date

It seems Jack White‘s musical hiatus may have come to an end, and we couldn’t be more excited. Having recently announced that an album from super group The Dead Weather is on the way titled Dodge & Burn, they’ve now announced when we can expect that bad boy and it’s very soon indeed.

Posting an image on the band’s Facebook page, Dead Weather fans can mark September 25 on their calendars as the day the band will break their five year silence. Being released by White’s own label, Third Man RecordsDodge & Burn will feature 12 songs including the previously released Buzzkill(er)Open Up (That’s Enough), and Rough Detective remixed and remastered.

Considering the band “spent their rare and sporadic free moments over the past year recording together in Nashville,” and have said “the thick and heavy Dodge & Burn will satisfy your urges for the dark magic that is The Dead Weather for a very long time,” this is going to be an agonising wait until September 25.

Jack White has most recently been in the news for his work with Jay-Z’s fledgling music streaming service Tidal. A number of artists have been releasing albums exclusively through the premium service, most recently Prince. There’s no word yet if The Dead Weather will fall under the same umbrella (ha) but let’s hope that they’re a little more liberal with this release; when we tested Tidal out, we didn’t really think it was worth the hefty $30 monthly fee.
