Just in time for your Friday, The John Steel Singers drop ‘Weekend Lover’

Well, shit. It’s a beautiful sunny Friday, a banger of a weekend is very nearly upon us and Brisbane legends The John Steel Singers have marked the occasion with a brand new single, Weekend Lover.

It’s the first from their upcoming third album Midnight At The Plutonium. The Plutonium in question is less the radioactive element and more JSS’ own studio in Brisbane’s Kelvin Grove, where the album is currently assuming its final form. Other local acts who’ve graced the studio include Cloud Control and Blank Realm – so it’s pretty clear they’re doing something right.

Weekend Lover is infectious, funky, crisp and sunny all at the same time and features a fantastically catchy chorus that will get you feeling nice and warmed up for a couple of relaxing afternoon frosties in the backyard without a care in the world. It’s a new direction for The John Steel Singers but it’s still a great track from a band with a solid track record of nifty tunes! Check out our interview with them on what exactly the fuck happened in 2014 and have a ripper of a weekend.

Midnight At The Plutonium is out early 2016 via Plutonium Records/Create Control. In the meantime, keep your ears peeled for a couple more singles, and if we’re really lucky, tour dates to boot!
