It’s Business Time: Flight of the Conchords hint at upcoming movie

It’s business time for everyone’s favourite comedy-duo out of New Zealand: Flight of the Conchords. That’s right, in an interview with Indiewire, one half of the ‘Conchords, Jemaine Clement, has said that he and Bret McKenzie have begun writing a movie.

My body’s physical reaction to the mere suggestion of a FotC movie.

With the duo teasing new music, a tour and hinting at a musical, fans have been hanging out for new Flight of the Conchords for quite some time now. Between their own projects: Jemaine in a number of leading roles including the critically acclaimed People Places Things and a role in the upcoming Steven Spielberg adaptation of The BFG and Brett casually winning the Best Original Song Academy Award for Man or Muppet, its isn’t as though the duo haven’t been keeping busy in the five-odd years since their last tour.anigif_enhanced-buzz-17162-1380014743-24

However, Jemaine was quick to stress that the project is in it’s very early stages, adding “Who knows if it will ever be made, we’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, “The film is going to be like this,” it could be this, this, this, this, this.”

Maybe by the time the movie’s written, they’ll have a proper camera and robot suits like Daft Punk.
