Early this year, Fox took audiences by storm with it’s deliciously over the top new show Empire, documenting the lives of music industry mogul Lucious Lyon and his cast of friends and foes. Think Glee meets Days of Our Lives meets Aftermath, with fistfuls of talent thrown in and you are almost there. Now we finally get our first look at Season 2 and it’s going to be epic.
Scandal galore! Guest stars! A raging Cookie! It’s going to be huge.
Without giving away too many spoilers for the uninitiated, the teaser shows Lucious in prison after the escapades of season 1. meanwhile, his son Andre and on-again off-again ex-wife Cookie try to remove him from his position as CEO of Empire Entertainment. Lucious is not going down without a fight, and coaches his son Jamaal to take charge, while Jamaal continues the feud over just who is the biggest star with his brother Hakeem. If that’s not enough Chris Rock and Marisa Tomei are squeezed into the action.
Showrunner Ilene Chaiken says “If season one was about who will inherit the throne, season two is warring kingdoms.” Episode one premieres on September 23rd, and I don’t know about you, but we are pumped!
