Voltaire Twins announce debut LP “Milky Waves”

Since releasing their EP Apollo a few years ago, Perth-natives Voltaire Twins (brother-sister duo Tegan and Jaymes Voltaire) have played SXSW and Canadian Music week, relocated to Melbourne and recorded an album. Cearly, it’s safe to say, they’ve been busy. Their debut LP is called Milky Waves and it’s due out on August 14.

Working with producer Anna Laverty (Cut Copy, New Gods) and mixer Steven Schram (San Cisco, Little Red) for their debut, the result is an album so infectious that you can clearly imagine what it would be like to see the songs performed live. A blend of disco and pop that spans the 70s through to the 90s, Milky Waves radiates sparkle and synth with expert flair. Tegan’s falsetto plays off the intoxicating beats, making it difficult not to dance to the three singles that have already been released in the lead up to the album: Goodnight, Spirit, Modern Gore and Long Weekend.
