PREMIERE: Watch The New Clip For Magic America’s ‘Shock Me Sober’

Psych rock four piece Magic America have been onto something really good for a while now, but their latest track Shock Me Sober is where they’ve really hit the nail on the head. Anxious, energetic and that little bit wild, Shock Me Sober is an insight into “being wild and out of control. So out of control that no amount of trouble can snap you out of it”, and is a big step forward for the Melbourne band.

Considering they took their name from the Blur song of the same title, that alone stands to reason why they should be on your radar. Following on from their previous single Comes And GoesShock Me Sober builds on what we heard and takes it even further. Drawing heavy influence from bands like Brian Jonestown Massacre, Magic America seem to be going from strength to strength ahead of the release of their debut EP, said to be out later this year.

The accompanying clip for Shock Me Sober is a tripped out take on a house party, with the band performing the track live in one lucky person’s living room. The thumping track, with passionate vocals, infectious guitars and heavy psych effects that would definitely not lend itself to remaining sober, but is one that has you hooked from the first few seconds. Check the clip below, and if you’re in the Brisbane area you can catch them at the below dates (strongly recommended):
