Get Psychedelic With New “Crystal” Clip From Delorean

Happy Monday! It’s time to get freaky with Delorean’s hallucinogenic clip for new single Crystal. The Spanish alt dance act burst on to the scene in 2004 when they released their self titled debut but have been very quiet over the last couple of years. After the release of Apar in 2013 the four piece were subject to a scary kidnapping ordeal in Mexico as they toured the album, so a little down time is sure to be expected.

But, it is exciting to see the electroubadors back doing what they do best with this colourful and cutting edge offering. Crystal takes us back to the familiar melodic soundscapes we have come to know and love. The band pick up where they left off with the infectious Apar single Destitute Time and drown the track in blissed out layers with a toe tapping and accessible beat. The single is set to be part of an album to be released in early 2016.

Director and animator Joan Guasch says, “Created from two 3D scanned characters, ‘Crystal’ is a psychedelic trip through different stages in a relationship. The photogrammetry technique has been used to create the models and textures, using more than 2500 still pictures.” It is a visually spectacular effect that pushes the tripped out themes of the band’s previous clips to the next level. Colours and shapes tell a story of pieces falling apart before becoming whole again. It is mesmerising and affecting.

If this is a taste of what is to come, we can’t wait to see what else Delorean offer in the lead up to the album release.
