Wizard by day, rapper by night: Potter takes on Eminem

Who knew Harry Potter could rap?

If you watched his interview with Jimmy Fallon from last October, you’d know that Daniel Radcliffe is a self-proclaimed rap fan. He even showed off his skills by giving a rendition of Blackalicious’ Alphabet Aerobics. As the name suggests, it’s a very difficult song to rap. He pulled it off though, especially considering he is not a professional rapper (nor is he trying to be).

In the interview, he mentioned that he was a huge fan of Eminem“I think I was the first kid in my class to learn all the words to The Real Slim Shady,” he said.

A video went viral today, featuring the boy wizard himself performing the 2000 hit. It was Karaoke Night at Cameron’s Irish Pub in Half Moon Bay in California, and Radcliffe was ready to give it his best shot. With a strong American accent, he didn’t slip up once and owned the song with every line. The performance, with the help of his girlfriend and backup dancer Erin Darke, was met with appreciation from the crowd.

But, don’t worry, the actor is sticking to movies. His love for rap is just for fun. Unless J.K. Rowling uses this video as inspiration for Harry Potter and The Real Slim Shady.
