Just after it was announced that he was headlining Bluesfest 2016, City And Colour has confirmed some more BIG news.
His fifth album If I Should Go Before You will be released in October, with pre-orders available from this Friday, July 24. This follows his previous album The Hurry and The Harm which peaked at number 4 on the Australian charts following its release in 2013. Even more impressive was an album he recorded with P!nk as You+me, released as rose ave. which climbed to number 2.
The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by City And Colour, otherwise known as Dallas Green (city…. and colour….. get it?!) with assistance in production and engineering from Karl “Horse” Bareham. Green has some nice things to say about his touring band, who he also collaborated with on the album:
“They inspired me to want to create new music, just to create it with them—I don’t think I wrote these songs for the band, per se, but I certainly wrote them because of the band. Anybody who has seen us play will understand that this is the best representation of what we do live that we have ever recorded. I was so excited about being able to make and record an album with these guys that it just flowed. I felt so confident about their abilities to make all of my ideas come true.”
There’s also a few other surprises for you die-hard fans. If you go onto City And Colour’s official website on Saturday July 25th at midnight, you will be able to pre-order a limited edition coloured vinyl. Also, the first 200 people who pre-order the album from JB Hi-Fi will also receive a postcard personally signed by Green. This offer is exclusive to those in Australia and New Zealand. How exciting!
