Chance The Rapper Freaks Out After Kanye Shout-Out

Fellow Chicago native Chance The Rapper has (very understandably) freaked out after receiving a shout-out from none other than rap demigod Kanye West himself.

The acknowledgment took place on Friday, at Ottawa Bluesfest, where West played one Chance’s songs during his set and then took a breather between track to say, “I had to put that on because Chance is here tonight. Make some noise for him,” and calling him one of “the most talented young new artists.”

In an Instagram taken of Chance at the moment of the announcement, who had also performed at the festival, shows him about to pass out from glee.

He goes crazy, screaming, “That’s all I needed!” While slapping the stage and jumping about for joy. He later posted this about the reaction on Twitter:

Kanye also told the audience “stay tuned” for more from both artists – perhaps a potential collaboration between the two?

Receiving shoutouts from his idol isn’t just one of the best things that has happened to Chance lately. He’s set to star in a new film called Slice, which tells the story of the murder of a pizza delivery boy and is described as a “feature-length no holds barred action-packed thrill ride.” However, this isn’t the rapper’s first foray into the acting world; he made his debut in Mr. Happy.

In addition to the release of his album Surf, Chance is also planning to drop a new single soon titled simply as Paradise.  He’s also getting very own brand of Helles-style lager called ‘No Collar’.
