Having just hosted the VIVID Festival opening party and conversations with French beatmaker Onra, Red Bull Music Academy are at it again. Today they announced London based artist and DJ Kutmah as the next installment of their monthly free-nationwide-tour.
Kutmah, realname Justin McNulty, founded the celebrated LA’ club night Sketchbook, a now-legendary event, which really contributed to the fundamental roots of the LA beat scene. He’s an associate of Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label, having also tried his hand at beatmaking, but now primarily focuses on playing on the decks. He’s just curated the second CD for Giles Peterson’s Worldwide Family series, and has been touring with The Gaslamp Killer, FlyLo, Dabrye, and way more.
Red Bull’s put on a tonne of free parties recently. The most recent being the aforementioned VIVID opening with Onra, and others including Clark and Peanut Butter Wolf. Kutmah’s playing a whole bunch of shows with Red Bull in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth – they’re all free with RSVP – you’d be a fool to miss out.
