Astro Travellers Ready New EP and East Coast Tour

Brisbane jazz infused hip hop crew Astro Travellers have been very busy lately. Performing regularly at established Brisbane venues, supporting Sex on Toast and generally killing it at everything they do, they recently released a 7-inch single Future Supernova late last year which was absolutely not enough to quench my thirst for hard copies of their music.

Thankfully, they’ve finally answered mine and most of Brisbane’s prayers to the cosmos and have announced that they’ll be dropping a fresh new EP next month. Titled Seven Metaphors and brought to you by the legends at Green Chimney Records, you can probably expect more smooth and smoky future soul sounds thanks to the classically trained jazz components of the band, as well as the spitfire lyrics from emcees Rui Da Cruz and ALI The GREAT, not to mention the recent addition of the honeyed, goosebump inducing vocals by Tiana Khasi (you might recognise her voice from The Kite String Tangle‘s track Stone Cold). Together, they are unstoppable, so it’s fantastic to see the fruits of their labour finally ready for ears.

The good news doesn’t stop there though. Astro Travellers will be hitting the road this July, hitting Toowoomba, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne with their intergalatic jams. Check the dates below and take my advice: this is a band you need to see live. Thank me later.
