Tear Council is the new collaboration between Aussie producers Matt Van Schie (Van She) and Michael Di Francesco (Touch Sensitive). They shared this wonderful mixtape two weeks ago, but I’ve been impatiently waiting for a new track ever since the premiere of their debut single Anywhere back in February.
Finally, the wait is over.
My Car is catchy, coolly subdued, and so, so smooth. The melody is simple and warm, backed by a subtle but vital bass line, and a full palette of sonic colour splashes. Once again, the pair has managed to create a sublime track that’s equally nostalgic and fresh, with just a hint of tongue-in-cheek.
