Stonefox bill themselves as “three kids writing music”. In reality, Jenna Russo, Monica Spasaro and Tim Carroll are much more than their own modest description and their new single Arrow is proof of that. Following on from the major success their self produced 2014 debut All I Want, Arrow has Stonefox continuing to display prowess as an ambient, low-fi, indie-pop outfit.
The first track from the Melbourne trio’s upcoming debut EP, Arrow is filled with sparse guitar riffs, washed out static and heartbeat rhythms. Vocals go on to layer upon one another, giving us some pretty damn near ethereal harmonies, delivering some powerfully emotive lyrics as the song slowly builds to its crescendo.
