Kendrick Lamar premieres new music in LA

Hot on the heels of the release of To Pimp a Butterfly, the Kendrick Lamar hype train rolls on as he debuted new music over night at the Regent Theatre in Los Angeles. Performing with Bilal, who appears on Kendrick’s latest project, the rapper launched into another furious display of rapping, with the jazz and soul direction of his music still apparent as ever. Reportedly titled Money Over Love, the track features a heavy bass guitar and piano backing, as Kendrick bounced around on stage and showcased his dancing skills (or lack thereof).

For an artist who commonly goes through long lulls in terms of releases, it is a welcome relief to see Kendrick continuing to jump on new tracks. Even if the song turns out to be credited to Bilal, here’s hoping that Kendrick does not disappear from our radar any time soon.
