His song Trap Queen swiftly climbed the Hot 100 and peaked at number three in 2014. It put Fetty Wap, at the time a little known artist, on the map. Now, Drake’s gone and done a remix of Wap’s song earlier this week and cemented Wap as one of the hottest breakout artists of the year.
The latest track to feature a guest verse by Drake is Wap’s My Way. Drizzy drops a verse at 2:30 minutes giving the track an extra kick with such lyrics as: “All I gotta do is put my mind to this shit. Cancel out my ex, I put a line through that bitch.” Ah, poetry.

Drake features on the 4:54 minute track for 45 seconds – just enough time to add some extra depth to the overall sound. With the OVO addition, this track undoubtedly has a good chance at becoming an American summer anthem.
Wap describes how Drake contacted him and asked if he could remix the track:
“[He] actually asked me ‘Is it cool if I do a remix?’ And even the way he said it—more like, ‘Can I bless it?’ He was thanking me for putting him on the remix, and I’m trying to tell him like, ‘No, thank you. You don’t understand what you’re doing for me.’ He’s definitely a very, very, very, very humble person.”
The track is feverishly different to Wap’s Trap Queen. Now that’s just refreshing!
What’s your verdict, does Drake add a little something something to the track?
