Felicity Groom releases new single and tour dates

Some people aren’t that familiar with Perth songstress Felicity Groom, but I’m here to help that change.

Felicity is signed to Spinning Top records (home to Tame Impala, Pond, Peter Bibby and more,) and released her beautiful sophomore album last year Hungry Sky. Now she’s heading out on the road, with a string of tour dates in support of the album.

Oh Jesus features on Hungry Sky, and was produced in Kevin Parker of Tame Impala (and by the way, the album also features guest appearances from Park, Jay Watson and Julian Barbagallo.) The track is absolutely gorgeous, I’ve listened to it four times in a row already (seriously). Check it out right here:

Dark and bluesy, the track is anchored by a sturdy bass, with psychedelic twinges splashing colour and weirdness into the otherwise ominous song. Her vocals are delicate and soars to an angelic height, yet raw and able to really capture a kind of devastating emotion. Like a vaguely psychedelic PJ Harvey, this track has got me hook, line and sinker.

Anyway, Felicity will be on tour soon, and I highly recommend you attend.
