I cannot get enough of Shamir at the moment. A serious player in the game, the Las Vegas artist has quickly become a act to watch lately after his huge single On The Regular came out last year. Now, in conjunction with the YouTube Music Awards, the energetic and fresh artist has released a new video for his latest single, Call It Off.
Staring both real life and puppet Shamir, the track is infectious. Written about “the transformative joy we feel when we finally get ourselves out of bummer situations – relationships, bad career moves, whatever it is,” Call It Off is the track that literally makes you dance your troubles away!
Interestingly, the puppets will look all too familiar to a lot of people – Philip Hodges, director of the clip, holds an office at Jim Henson Studios, and actually designed Shamir his own personalised puppet for the clip!
Call It Off is the second track off Shamir’s forthcoming album, Ratchet out May 15th – an album I am struggling to remain patient for. Check out the Jim Henson infused clip below!
