The sense of Aussie pride doesn’t get much bigger than this.
QANTAS have announced their plan to give Australian musicians (who are also dedicated Qantas flyers) a free Additional Baggage Allowance when travelling domestically. According to the Australian Music Industry Network, artists will be allowed three pieces at 23 kilograms a piece for free.
That will make touring with a bunch of heavy equipment a whole lot easier on the pocket, right?
The offer starts April 13th for those travelling within Australia with QANTAS or QANTASlink domestic services with a QF flight number. Also, the tickets must be booked two or more business days before departure. The artists travelling must be a part of one of the following associations:
Association of Artist Managers
Australian Chamber Orchestra
Australian Independent Record Labels Association
Australasian Performing Right Association
Australian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society
Country Music Association of Australia
Folk Alliance
Live Performance Australia
Musicians Union of Australia
Opera Australia
AMIN member organisations the Queensland Music Network, Contemporary Music Services Tasmania, Music NSW, Music NT, Music Victoria and The Western Australian Music Industry Association
Nothing is free unless there’s a catch.
