Rumour has it that James Blake might be dropping his next album much sooner than we thought.
According to French radio station France Inter, Radio Silence will be released in April. Whether this leak was intentional or accidental is another story, but let’s just hope it’s true!
This will be Blake’s third album, and probably one of the most highly anticipated by fans and music critics alike. He previously said will definitely be released sometime this year.
No word from Blake on the actual date yet. He gave a few hints about what we can except from his new album in an article by the Miami New Times in November:
“I should hope that [the new album] will be a step on, as much as the second one was to the first. I guess I’ve taken a focus on the songwriting again, even more closely, and I’m dabbling in some different production techniques, things I’ve developed,” he said.
There was also talk of his work with Kanye West:
“In terms of the actual collaboration for this record, it looks like we should be able to get something done. I know that there’s a specific song I would like him to be on, and if he can do that by the time my record comes out, that would be fantastic,” Blake said. Collaborations with West and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon have been all but confirmed.
Time seems to be running out, but fingers crossed this is really happening.
