SBTRKT, Squarepusher and Jon Hopkins have been covered by an orchestra… of all things.

You may have heard SBTRKT, Jon Hopkins and Squarepusher covered before, but never like this…

This week Stompy’s Playground worked with London Contemporary Voices to rework songs by some of the biggest names in electronic dance music, the resulting tracks were actually quite incredible.

Stompy’s Playground is a London-based team that aims to bring together the worlds of electronic dance and orchestral music. They use a combination of orchestral arrangements, voice, synth, bass and drum kit to create a sound that is compelling, quirky and entirely unique.

If you haven’t heard of these guys you seriously need to give them a listen. While they may not be for the electronic music purists out there, the finished product sounds truly amazing giving traditional orchestral music a refreshing makeover whilst at the same time appreciating the awesomeoness of electronic dance music. What’s not to love about that?

What’s more, all of the six tracks are available for free-download as a “gift for 2015” from their website below.

What fabulous people.
