Sweet new clip from Interpol

Words by Dani Hansen

Have Interpol actually done something funny, on purpose? The band’s new video for Everything Is Wrong from their latest album El Pintor is a gorgeous little collab between Carlos Puga and the band’s own Paul Banks. These guys previously co-created Interpol’s less comical but equally cinematic Twice As Hard video.

Their newest clip reveals each band member in their element as they commute around NYC to a show – Sam Fogarino is the effortless flirt, tuning tall, leggy, pug-loving blondes, while a very urbane, slightly clichéd but always adorable Daniel Kessler humbly helps an old lady cross the street. Banks is a douchebaggy Everybody On My Dick Like They Supposed To Be version of himself being led around by his boxer minder, but we love him all the same.

The clip is no doubt gearing up for their Record Store Day 2015 Everything is Wrong b/w What Is What 7” release, which features cover art by Obey’s Shepard Fairey who recently worked on an El Pintor-themed mural in Brooklyn that can be seen in the vid if you’re careful not to blink.

These guys have been around for about a minute now but they just get slicker with every release. Suit up.

El Pintor is out now on Matador.
