DRAM Promotes (Actually) Eating Broccoli (Yes, The Vegetable) In New Video

Green can come in all shapes and sizes if you’re a Grammy-nominated lyrical genius like DRAM.

Now, you don’t need to be an expert in street speak to figure out that his hit single Broccoli is… not actually about broccoli. However, running with the joke in an adorably meaningful way, the artist has teamed up with PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) to promote the consumption of the (actual) vegetable in a light-hearted new video encouraging healthy eating habits.

The clip opens with the blazed rapper telling his friends to “Try this green. This I got this stash from this little white-haired lady at the farmers market of all places!

“This right here that I got is that Cali, real drove from back in the day. I got this stash from this little white-haired lady at the farmers market of all places… I got a whole pound of that Broccoli!”

D.R.A.M then makes his way over to the couch and with a “get the fuck outta the way” sits down to reveal a huge pound of real, edible broccoli that your mum tried to force you to eat when you were a kid, a move which leads to cheers from his friends. Watch the full video below.

It’s a smart marketing move from the rapper, whose fantastic 2016 debut album Big Baby D.R.A.M was received to critical acclaim, with lead single Broccoli picking up a Grammy nomination and everything.

It’s also satisfying to see rappers getting behind the consumption of healthy foods as oppose to the consumption of any cuisine within arms reach, a move which has had disastrous results in the past.

Eat your veggies kids!
