Apple Music Dropped a 100-Track All-Aussie Playlist

There’s a certain day coming up which has typically been used to celebrate Australia in a way that we don’t necessarily agree with. We’re all for celebrating our sunburnt country, but perhaps, y’know, on a different date. Nevertheless, January 26 is fast approaching. So if we’re gonna celebrate anything, we may as well celebrate music, considering it’s also the day of the Hottest 100. Plenty of amazing artists are in town and will be performing across the public holiday, including the Brisbane leg of Laneway Festival, featuring Aussie greats including A.B Original, Sampa the Great, Tame Impala, Camp Cope and more.

Anyway, in case you can’t get to Laneway, or perhaps you feel like making the most out of a negative day by celebrating something good, or maybe you just love Aussie music as much as we do. If so, you’re in luck, because Apple Music have put together one hell of an all-Aussie playlist for you to enjoy!

The playlist is a delightfully diverse smattering of new and old Australian music from all corners of its scope. There’s heady beats from Flume and The Presets, some classic Silverchair and The Living End, Paul Kelly and plenty more from past decades, like INXS, Divinyls, Crowded House and even some Savage Garden and Natalie Imbruglia.

You can check out the full playlist here on Apple Music

Unfortunately the only indigenous artists featured are Archie Roach and Yothu Yindi, so we’ve made our own little playlist highlighting just a tiny handful of Indigenous Australian artists who deserve a spot on the list. Click here for the playlist!
