PLAYLIST: The Range Shares His Top Songs 2016

It’s been an incredible year for Brooklyn producer The Range, also known as James Hinton, whose debut album Potential was released to widespread critical acclaim back in March. 2017 is looking to be Hinton’s biggest year yet, and he’s kicking it off by visiting Australia to perform with Tourist (dates below). But before we head into 2017, it’s time to look back at the year that’s just passed, so Hinton has shared a playlist of his favourite songs of 2016.

In his own words: 2016 was mostly a year of looking back for me. My Spotify is telling me that I pretty evenly listened to Untrue and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness this year. Moodwise that’s pretty fitting given the worldly circumstances but these 20 songs have stuck with me throughout the year. I am not sure that there is a theme that unites them besides most belonging to bigger pieces of varying lengths that I also enjoyed – this year certainly was an album year for me.

Enjoy!
