Drake’s One Dance Is The Most Streamed Song Ever

It’s official: One Dance is Drake’s most successful song to date.

More than that, it’s the more streamed track of all time. OF ALL TIME!

First, the single saw the Canadian reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time and now it’s nabbed him the title of Most Streamed Song on Spotify. The standout track which features WizKid (who has recently hinted the two have another record coming out soon) and Kyla has overtaken Major Lazer‘s MØ and DJ Snake-featuring Lean On, which was given the title last year when it hit 526 million streams worldwide. Lifted from this year’s highly successful (albeit not that great) Views, the song broke records for first-week streams.

It’s hardly surprising considering the song has reached no. 1 all around the world and has earned a four-time platinum status, but it’s kind of staggering to look at things from a numbers perspective. The track has racked up more than 882 million plays – and that’s just on Spotify.

It’s interesting to note that the success comes despite the the fact that Drake has strong links with Spotify rival Apple. In fact, Views was released exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes for a week before it was made available across other platforms, including Spotify. Drake has also earned the top spot on Spotify, and has amassed over 36 million monthly listeners and over eight billion streams in total.
