Kanye West and Drake May Have Just Announced a Collab Album at OVO Fest

Just when we thought the biggest story in music this week had been decided early with the Internet-breaking announcement of Frank Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry being released this Friday, Kanye West is here to make it very clear that nobody upstages Kanye West.

Appearing at Drake’s hometown OVO Fest in Toronto, Kanye helped Drizzy run through Pop Style before giving huge renditions of Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1Famous and Runaway. Yeezy then decided to blow the roof off Toronto and then hinted not so subtly at all at a collaboration album between himself and Drake. Watch the video below:

“Are y’all ready for this album”, Kanye asks, telling Toronto he’s not talking about The Life Of Pablo or Views, instead pointing at Drake who walked over to join him. As the spotlight shone on both of them, the Toronto crowd erupted.

This is by no means an official announcement or any indication that there is any recorded material yet for an album between the pair. Kanye has previously hinted at a project between the two back when Views was released earlier in the year, mentioning a mixtape they had been going to work on. Kanye’s statements tonight are certainly very eyebrow raising and will have the Internet rife with speculation until the situation is clarified.

Not to get too ahead of ourselves, but a collab between two of hip-hop’s stars on its highest tier may outshine even Watch The Throne in terms of hype. Fingers crossed the pair aren’t just teasing us right now.
