Robyn Shares Cassius Remix of “Dancing on My Own”

While Swedish pop diva Robyn hasn’t had a full length release since seventh LP Body Talk in 2010, the singer has been far from idle.

for her most recent project RMX/RBN the starlet has been sharing a number of hand-picked compilation of dance remixes, the latest being from French duo Cassius, who have re-imagined Robyn’s biggest hits Dancing on My Own. Adding to the Swedish pop star’s own amalgam of European synth pop and R&B, the pair have layered in some snapping snares and pulsing house rhythms. The duo have striped away some of the driving arpeggiation and urgent tempo to create a slower and more euphoric feel. Their deft production creates some more uplifting vibrations the melancholic original.

In contrast comes Zhala & Heal The World‘s take on Stars 4-Ever, moving into some more ominous territory. Cast against some darker electronica the naivete of Stars 4-Ever‘s catchy poop hooks and bubblegum lyrics are turned into something altogether more obsessive.

Other project collaborators for RMX/RBN include Wolfgang Voigt, Mr. Tophat, Axel Boman, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, Joakim and The Mekanism. Two are expected to come out every Friday this month.
