Violent Soho Win Big At The Q Music Awards, Jam New ‘WACO’ Tracks Live

Having released their long-anticipated fourth album WACO just last Friday, Mansfield rock royalty Violent Soho have been on a bit of a whirlwind jaunt around Australia signing out autographs to the hordes of fans who didn’t just turn up but positively over-fucking-whelmed a few independent record stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

They also hit up last night’s Queensland Music Awards in Brisbane and took out both the Rock Award and one of the big ones, Song Of The Year (!) for last year’s smash hit first single from the album; Like Soda.

While they’ve been in Brisbane they’ve also somehow found time to jam out a couple of the early favourites from WACO in a very intimate live setting. Commonly the place for weddings and corporate functions, Lightspace in Fortitude Valley was instead the site of a rip-roaring jam from Violent Soho, probably blowing the ears off of everyone wandering through the area at that time.

Have a look below:

If that raw energy and power doesn’t get you revved up beyond belief for their WACO tour alongside the likes of Dune Rats and DZ Deathrays in just under two months then I’m not sure what will. Violent Soho shows are usually regarded as anywhere between amazing and life-affirming and it’ll be your first chance to hear some of your favourite tracks from WACO played as loud and as live as they should be.

Also, if you were busy and missed out on seeing them in person over the weekend, you’ll be able to do the next best thing and hassle Violent Soho over the Internet in just a few hours, bassist Luke Henery and drummer Michael Richards will be answering your hard-hitting questions on Reddit at 6PM AEDT today! Check their social media for a link this afternoon.
