Earlier this week, it came to light that the Boy Better Know head, Skepta, helped build a playground in a Nigerian village, warming our Adidas tracksuit-wearing hearts and bringing a tear to our “Truss mi daddi” eyes.
“Me and my Dad been talking about making a place for the children to play in his village in Nigeria,” Skepta said on Instagram. “He sent me these pics and my heart is smiling, I told him to wait for me to come and add the finishing touches but he wanted my Mum to open it before she flew to London tomorrow haha, sweet boy ting.”

It’s been a big couple of weeks for Skepta, who, after performing a whirlwind string of shows across Australia earlier this year, managed to sign Drake of all people to his label. The announcement came after the BRIT Awards, and sees the marrying of perhaps the most hyped crew in the UK (BBK) with Drake’s OVO in what will surely be a huge step forward for Skepta, BBK and grime in general as it continues to explode across the globe. Let’s just hope he brings fellow emcees like Stormzy with him!
