Questlove Has Composed The Score For Upcoming Film Starring Zoë Kravitz

Questlove is set to lend his musical talents towards scoring an upcoming film, Vincent-N-Roxxy, which follows a couple who are on run from violent criminal elements.

The Film Music Reporter, writes that The Roots drummer and frontman has recently finishing composing music for the indie drama film, which stars Zoë Kravitz and Emile Hirsch as the movie’s title characters, Vincent and Roxxy.

The film, which finished shooting last year, follows a small town loner and a rebellious punk rocker who (predictably) fall in love and are for whatever reason forced to go on the run, only to discover that they can’t escape the violence in their lives. Gary Michael Schultz is directing the film, with Kid Cudi also starring in the movie as a character named Suga.

Questlove is no stranger to providing his musical talents to movies and TV. His previous gigs have involved providing the score for a Chris Rock film, Top Five, as well as scoring several episodes of the show, Inside Amy Schumer. Regarding his most known work in screen, he is best known for featuring with The Roots as the house band for The tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

Vincent-N-Roxxy will be premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City in April. It will be interesting to listen to what type of sound Questlove was tasked with providing for the romantic drama, and whether or not his trademark sound will be easily distinguishable in the movie score.
