LIFE OF PEDER

Lido Remixes All Of Kanye’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ With ‘Life Of Peder’

Last week Lido put that question to Twitter, prompting widespread speculation as to what it could possibly be. Today, he revealed why he was asking, and it’s big. In an absolutely mammoth undertaking, the Norwegian-based producer, has remixed all of Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo into one huge, 8 and a half minute banger.

You know when it starts with a beautiful chorus singing “If young Metro don’t trust you, I’m gon’ shoot you,” you’re in for something next level. Moving through every track on the album, though sampled to different degrees, you’ll no doubt be able to recognise what he’s doing and using all the way through if you’re familiar with TLOP. For real though, saying this is impressive would be an insult to how stellar it is. From adding classic Lido style synths over Father Stretch My Hands, to making I Love Kanye into a groovy banger composed of other vocal samples, and then Kanye laughing becoming this intense thumper of a section – oh my god. Or, FML and Fade being left largely as it is for the closing, until Lido adds some plucked strings and swelling bass that brings it into a whole new level of production, and then pretty much becomes Real Friends but also Wolves. There’s so much going on here that it’s next to impossible to list, it needs to be heard to be believed – this is a movement.

To make things even better, it’s available for free download and stream via http://lifeofpeder.com/ – Peder being Lido’s first name. Once you download it the track name comes up as Life of Peder (Part One), so here’s hoping that there are more instalments on the way. Though a bunch of Kanye remixes have come out following the ‘release’ of TLOP, including many done by Kanye himself, and a freestyle by Tyler, The Creator and A$AP Rocky, none have so far been able to reach a level like this.
