Last week, Kendrick Lamar surprised the world with an unannounced eight-track album, untitled, unmastered. Not only is it already well on its way to being the highest sold hip-hop album of 2016 (suck it, Kanye), not only is it, well, ridiculously amazing, but it has also now spawned an interesting competition announced by Top Dawg Entertainment.
The contest takes place today (4 pm/7 pm USA time which is 11 am Sydney time) and will see K. Dot asking fans eight questions – one for each song. Entrants must use the hashtag #untitledlyrics, and the first person to answer correctly wins a merch pack including the album, t-shirt, hat and a backpack. There will be eight separate winners.

It’ll be interesting to see what comes of these questions. Considering the increasingly awe-inspiring density of Lamar’s music, the questions may well double as a springboard for further analysis of his newest release.
